To celebrate Little MG’s 4th birthday, we headed to the Big Fish Little Fish Hawaiian Luau Party conveniently located in Sydenham, down the road from us. As a huge fan of both themes and dancing, it was kind of a win win birthday party to host. Lot’s of entertainment for the kids, no clean up and I get to dance to some old school chhoooooons outside of my disco.
Big Fish Little Fish organise 2 hour family raves, which is really all you need to get down with the kids in a night club. I’ve been watching the company for a while now, and MG’s birthday seemed like the perfect excuse to go. So along with 8 of his friends (and parents) we headed along to the tropical party. DJ’d by a legendary Ibiza DJ, we knew we were in for a fun one.

Here we are, ready to hula the afternoon away in our tropical outfits. MG wore his Scotch Shrunk Hawaiian T-shirt with a pair of bright green Primark shorts and his silver Clarks trainers.

We completed our looks with fab accessories from Tiger, some fun sunglasses and leie garlands. Their comprehensive dress up section is always my first stop for fancy dress parties.

Big Fish Little Fish have an amazing parachute dance at all of their raves and it did not dissapoint, enjoyed by little and big kids alike.

I loved the regular glitter cannons so much, I copied the idea for my birthday party the week later, except mine shot out of champagne bottles.

I even roped Daddy and Baby Lolo in on the action. Baby Lolo rocked a flower crown and a luau garland on the baby carrier, while daddy wore the face mask Little MG made in the event’s craft corner. I saw many babies with protective headphones, but the irony is Baby Lolo only fell asleep when I was on the dancefloor and not in the Villa Pia Baby chillout room, which had little tents and soft play zones.

I loved the graffiti/ colouring in wall at the end of the dancefloor. {Note to self keep getting MG to practice holding pens right!}. There was also a craft area where the kids made Hawaiin masks and a Play Dough table for added entertainment.

…and that’s a wrap. Its fair to say we all had fun, I loved dancing to some old school house classics and the kids danced, spun, popped bubbles, drew, jumped and….wore themselves out good and properly. We were the first ones in, last ones out. Clearly the raving baton has been passed down from one generation to the next, as this little boy takes just after his mummy.
